By nodes we mean separate machines (to be more precise separate ip addresses, I believe) and we do not count machine that runs the server. One database will be used to submit their completed lessons and one database for them to test with. One database engine will run all of the databases. Does the developer edition of SQL Anywhere 17 (from here: -anywhere.html ) allow 3 concurrent connections? In our scenario their could be 40 or more simultaneous connection to the database during a lab.
